SIP Services

SIP Provided Services

SIP Trunking is a method of delivering communication services over the internet. Before SIP Trunks, voice calls were carried over the PTSN on traditional copper lines. SIP Trunks are virtual phone lines that allow you to make and receive phone calls. Calls are broken into packets and sent over the network infrastructure.

SIP Trunks can support a number of SIP calls through channels. A SIP channel, also know as sessions, lines, or concurrent calls, has the capacity to support one incoming or outgoing calls. These are like lanes on a highway and each call takes up one lane. The number of channels your business needs depends on how many concurrent calls your business typically makes.

While SIP and VoIP are often used interchangeably, VoIP is a broad term relating to any call the utilizes the internet to send and receive voice calls. SIP is an example of one of the technologies that VoIP utilizes.  VoIP telephones use SIP for much of the call transport.

Correctly configured SIP calls are indistinguishable from calls made on traditional copper lines. Ensuring top-quality voice communications, Rottweiler Systems designs each implementation of our VoIP SIP services so that you realize an uptime higher than other providers by providing and managing cloud-managed network devices for managing your network.  This added care ensures that when voice and data are on the same network that calls are always prioritized, which will minimize jitter and latency.

The primary advantage to SIP Trunking is communications cost savings. SIP Trunks are also very flexible and can be purchased as unlimited local and long-distance or as bundled minutes. Our SIP Trunks offer flexibility and we can add or remove channels or IDs (Direct Numbers) within minutes of receiving a request. Additional benefits include built-in disaster recovery features, network consolidation, and the ability to integrate Unified Communications capabilities such as video, and instant messaging.

Another distinct advantage of Rottweiler Systems SIP Trunks is that we have configured them to auto-redirect should you lose connectivity to your site.  Should your business be managed on our cloud services, we can direct calls to any number automatically without a phone call to do so.

We also provide carrier services that provide cellular fail-over when Internet interruption happens.

The Many Benefits of SIP Trunking Services

Reliability

SIP Trunks provide reliability, flexibility, and fail-over notification options should an interruption occur.  Other technologies such as copper lines, PRI circuits, and older T1's simply have not kept up with the technology shifts and are harder to deploy and manage.  Thus making carrier provided services less reliable than SIP Trunks.

Local and Toll-Free

Scalability

SIP Trunks can quickly be scaled up or down through the easy-to-use interface or with a simple phone call. Additional DIDs can be ordered and added in minutes, unlike traditional carriers that can take weeks to process an order.

Fewer Site Repairs

Unlike copper lines, SIP Trunks can be managed remotely thus requiring less over-head for service issues. The problem of copper lines is that it often requires two technicians to repair a common issue of no dial tone. With SIP the issue of troubleshooting copper connections goes away. Thus you have less downtime.

Local and Toll-Free

You can order local or toll-free numbers on the SIP Trunk platform. Both can run through your SIP Trunk and custom caller ID management is available.

ROI

Traditional PSTN and copper lines require a higher initial capital expenditure, higher tax rate structure, and greater maintenance than SIP Trunks do, so you recover your investment faster.

Consolidated Network Management

SIP Trunks can even utilize your existing network infrastructure, so you don’t need a separate network for voice traffic. This reduces the overhead to manage and support two separate networks.

Unified Communications

SIP Trunking can enable Unified Communications by utilizing data, IM, and video traffic through a single-platform solution.
