Data Networks

High-Quality Installation and Service

Rottweiler Systems' is a licensed and insured low-voltage provider that installs traditional phone systems, associated lines, Cat5e, and Cat6 data cables. Our certified technicians are experienced in installing high-quality products with minimal disturbance to drywall and existing infrastructure. Regardless of your low-voltage project, we design, implement and certify your data cabling infrastructure.

The Internet is Getting Faster! Can Your Network Keep Pace?

Data Networks usually slow down productivity when poorly installed wires do not have the capacity to carry the amount of traffic passing through to switches and routers. Often this leads to a business overpaying for services of upgraded internet speeds that cannot pass through to older hardware that was never designed to handle gigabit systems. We have been upgrading office networks in the greater Atlanta area for over 30 years. If you aren't sure if you're getting the speed for which you are your paying for, it probably is time to hire a network professional.

The Difference between Cat5E and Cat6.

What wire is right for your business?

Cat5e cables often limit network speeds. More importantly they were never designed to power PoE phones.

Cat6 (Cat 6, Cat-6) cables are the current generation of cable infrastructure. This category of cable offers a higher signal-to-noise ratio (the ratio of the strength of an electrical or other signal carrying information to that of interference), lower crosstalk (unwanted transfer of signals between communication channels), and are compatible for 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet). These improvements allow Cat6 wire to provide performance speeds up to 250MHz and results in a quieter operating system with reduced errors and higher data rates in signal transmission.

Both cable categories typically use 4 twisted pairs and incorporate copper wires; however, a longitudinal separator (or spline) was incorporated into the Cat6 design, isolating each of the four pairs of twisted wire. This made Cat6 cables more rigid.

Cat6 cables are usually a better choice than Cat5e. Moving forward, Cat6 cables are more appropriate to handle faster connection speeds and are worth the higher cost over Cat5e (typically 10-20% more expensive).
